What Do You Do When You Are Involved in a Car Accident?

There is a possibility that you will be involved in a car accident. What do you do in car accident situation especially if you have been injured or you believed to be injured due to the car accident

There are things that you can do if you believe that you have been injured in a car accident.

(1) Determine Your Current Status

What you need to do is first of all determine what your current status is. How sever is your injuries? Where do you feel pain? Are you able to move around without any limitations? Can you move at all? Do you feel pain if you move around or should you stay where you are? Take a deep breath and do not get emotionally about it meaning upset. Becoming upset will not help our situation, but only hurt your situation. You have to think critically and do not rely on emotions. This means using your brains, not your heart. Under your current state, please remain calm and figure out what is the best way to do. If it makes any sense that you need to move or does it make any sense to wait until medical personal can help with transporting you to the ambulance and then to the hospital, it is critical that you have to take of your help because you have one body. Once your body is permanently injured, you cannot fix it. You can be injured for life and you and your loved ones have to carry that burden.

Call 9-1-1 if you able. It is important you do not that because the police and medical personal car arrive at the scene of the accident quickly, so that they can run test on you and preserve evidence of the scene of the car accident.

(2) Assists Those who Need the Help the Most

Even though you have been injured to the car accident, you are able to move around. You might be able to help others who need first aid or need to get out of their vehicles if the damage to their vehicle is go great that they cannot get out. In the alternative, if their situation is very dangerous, and it does not put you in danger, then go ahead and help them of their situation.

(3) Take Pictures and Take Down Notes

If your injury is not as severe, but effect your ability to move, then document the situation, then you should do as much as you can to take the information and pictures of the car accident. You should take pictures of the scene. You should take pictures to the damage of your vehicle and other vehicle who were involved in the car accident, so you have evidence if the insurance company does dispute your claim. When you can, please write down everything you can remember about the car accident.

(4) Receive Medical Treatment immediately

If you believe the injury is bearable because you think you are invincible that is not always the case. It is smart and prudent on your part to have medical professional to see if you have any severe injuries such as a torn rotary cuff, herniated disc, brain damage, or severe injury that can have a permanent effect on your life. If you ignore the pain at the time when the injury had occurred and did not take care of it in time as you should have, then this can cause you to have worsening of your injury or maybe death.

There are circumstances where you do not feel the pain until a few days later. Be certain you see your medical provider like your doctor or go to the emergency room. Also, you want to make certain that hidden injuries which an x-ray, MRI, or EMG is required like fractures, internal brain injuries, and/or brain damage that you can receive medical treatment immediately and does not become worst over time.

Based on a referral from a friend I contacted Mr. Soubra and he agreed to take on my case. He helped me throughout the process; answering questions, helping with collecting data and negotiating with the insurance company. The end result was a settlement that exceeded my expectations. I’m certain that I would not have been able to do as well had I done it myself. L.B.
